Women in STEM

As a woman looking for a rewarding career in a world class organisation, STFC has plenty to offer you. From research and technical positions pushing the boundaries of science and engineering, to professional service roles in areas such as project management, policy and business development.

Women in STEM

As an employer, STFC is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We recognise the importance and benefits to the organisation and its employees of building a diverse talent pool. When you join, you will be invited to join a number of employee networks including a Women in STEM group (WiSTEM). WiSTEM raises awareness, discusses and proactively works to support gender equality and issues women experience. Members regularly meet over coffee and the network organises a popular event programme, for all STFC employees, covering topics such as the gender data gap to women’s health and menopause.

“It’s just such an exciting, motivating and inspiring environment. We can – and do – make a difference.”

Wendy, Senior Public Engagement Officer

STFC supports and values continued professional development for all its employees. It provides unconscious bias for all employees, further cultivating an inclusive culture in the workplace. And there are many other opportunities, including a paid-for membership to a professional body of choice and mentors are available to help support your development and career growth.
